Joan Pain has painted and worked
in theatre, graphic art, film and video for over 20
years. She first became fascinated with animals as
a child growing up on a Saskatchewan farm and the
inspiration for much of her artwork is rooted in
those early years.
Joan's unique style is
achieved through an intricate process which takes
up to 400 hours to complete. Several layers of
opaque watercolor paint are applied with an
airbrush and a fine brush is used under
magnification to create the vivid detail that
finishes each work.
