(Bataille
des plaines d'Abraham) In this portrait, my
sister-in law holds an image of General Wolfe
created by his most hated critic, my ancestor,
General Townshend. Pascale's ancestors were
Canadians at the time of Wolfe's campaign. I
painted this to mark the union of our
families. In both the Louisborg
and Quebec campaigns, Wolfe ordered the destruction
of settlements and evacuation of civilians to put
pressure on the fortress garrisons and deprive them
of support. One of his brigadiers, George Townsend,
protested these tactics and even began to draw and
distribute cartoons of Wolfe. Learn more about Wolfe and Canada's history
